Below is information for an event that the LCC and TiC have organized for CAMWS: Supporting Trans Colleagues and Students.
Everyone is welcome, and we especially want to invite teachers and scholars who are not transgender themselves. The event will include a brief roundtable with representatives from all career stages, and a chance to ask any questions you may have. We've gathered people who really want to help folks understand, so it's the perfect opportunity to learn to talk to and about us without worrying about whether you're using the right words, etc. We'll have information on how to get involved or help out, tips and best practices for being good allies, and an overview of current opportunities for research and study. We'll also have buttons to give out!
Most importantly, it's a great way for people to show up and be a community of goodwill in the face of a political faction that is trying to pit us against each other. Please distribute this invitation freely—this is a hybrid event, so you can attend either in person or on Zoom. Here's the info:
